" Operating condition: Era IIIa
Wagner smoke deflectors / The class 62 was developed and delivered by the Henschel company for the Deutsche Reichsbahn-Gesellschaft in the 1920s. The machines were two-cylinder hot steam locomotives.
A total of 15 units were built. Although the locomotives were built as early as 1928, the Deutsche Reichsbahn did not take delivery of 62 003 - 015 until 1932.
The reasons for this were the low demand as well as the too high price for the locomotives. After the Second World War, seven locomotives remained with the Deutsche Bundesbahn.
By 1956, the BR 62 had been taken out of service."
